Sofie Brouwers is a cardiologist with a special interest in arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, rehabilitation and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. She works as a cardiologist and rehabilitation specialist at the Cardiovascular center of the OLV Aalst Clinic, where she leads the hypertension and lipid clinic. Sofie Brouwers is also professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is active as Nucleus Board Member of the Council on Hypertension in the European Society of Cardiology. She has disseminated her scientific through various peer-reviewed publications, including first-author contributions in leading journals such as The Lancet and Hypertension and as co-author and section lead of the 2024 ESC Guidelines for the management of elevated blood pressure and hypertension
