Tim Balthazar was trained as a cardiologist and intensivist at the University Hospitals Leuven, where he began his career as a consultant. In 2021 he joined the team of the University Hospital Brussels to focus on medical and cardiac intensive care. He also remains active as a cardiologist. His key interests are: cardiogenic shock, acute heart failure and hemodynamic monitoring.
